Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She's now a Romanian/German actress. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had secured a number of TV roles including the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The Oscar-nominated film Downfall, her role as the Secretary Traudljunge of Adolf Hitler was also a critically-acclaimed one. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra worked on several significant international and national productions over the years. They include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as along with the French historic miniseries Napoleon. Additionally, she was an active member of The Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
